Gov. Rick Perry on Thursday issued a state disaster declaration for 40 Texas counties — including Gonzales, Lavaca, Caldwell and DeWitt counties — which will help speed recovery assistance to communities and families affected by Tropical Storm Hermine by opening the door to state and federal assistance.

The Crystal Theatre of Gonzales has a new approach to auditioning and selecting cast and scripts.
Auditions will be held for entire 2010 Season at the Crystal, 411 Saint Lawrence Street, this upcoming Thursday, Feb. 18 and Friday, Feb. 19.

Dec. 4: Tickets are now on sale for a scholarship benefit concert by renowned composer and concert pianist Eric Genuis. Genuis will perform at the Shiner Gaslight Theatre Jan. 23-24 with a violinist, vocalist and cellist, in a special event to benefit the Gaslight Thespian Scholarship Fund.
